Port of Tacoma breakbulk volumes soar in March

Continued high demand for machinery and construction equipment propelled the Port of Tacoma’s breakbulk volumes up 93 percent year to date through March.

The port said full international import and export container volumes grew 3 percent on the year, but total container volume remains down 2 percent. Domestic volumes continue to lag, down 9 percent year-to-date.
