The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday, April 18, passed legislation to extend the federal highway bill through the end of September that also approved plans to proceed with the Keystone pipeline. The 293-127 vote on H.R. 4348 set the stage for Senate negotiations for the three-month extension, the 10th since the expiration of SAFETEA-LU.

The House and Senate last month passed 90-day transportation bill extensions to fund highways and infrastructure through June 30. President Obama signed the extension March 30.
