Thermo King now offers microchannel coils as a standard feature on its SB and Spectrum series single- and multi-temperature platform trailer refrigeration units. The coils are designed to increase fuel efficiency and sustainability and improve reliability for greater uptime as compared to tube-and-fin condenser coils.
The upgraded TRUs weigh nearly 35 pounds less and feature a 10 to 15 percent lower refrigerant charge, reducing environmental impact. The units can be recycled easier as they feature no mixed metals.
