Kenworth debuted this morning at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., a new T680 model with a 52-inch sleeper.
The T680 released last year at the show has a 76-inch sleeper and is designed for long-haul application.
The 52-inch model unveiled today, however, is ideal for regional haul applications, Kenworth said, and is designed for fleets whose drivers spend 3-5 days on the road.
The sleeper and cab retained the amenities of the 76-inch model, but is two feet shorter. It still has two bunks, though.
Kenworth says it designed the truck for use with flatbed, tanker and lowboy trailers, among others.
