Goodyear expands Petro, TravelCenter tire offerings

Updated Jun 26, 2013

Fleets and owner-operators will have increased access to premium Goodyear truck tires thanks to The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s new agreement with TravelCenters of America LLC (TravelCenters.)

TA Truck Service and Petro:Lube locations will carry thee additional Goodyear Fuel Max truck tires:
· G399A LHS Fuel Max steer tire
· G572A LHD Fuel Max drive tire
· G316 LHT Fuel Max trailer tire

The tires feature Goodyear’s exclusive Fuel Max Technology, which uses cool-running compounds and advanced design technology to help reduce rolling resistance and improve tread life. They will be available and serviced at all TA Truck Service and Petro:Lube truck service facilities within the TA and Petro network by early July 2013, according to TravelCenters officials.

Select TA and Petro locations currently carry the Goodyear G394 SST DuraSeal + Fuel Max and G392A DuraSeal + Fuel Max wide-base truck tires. Both tires contain Goodyear’s exclusive DuraSeal Technology, a gel-like substance built into the tire’s inner liner that instantly seals nail-hole punctures of up to one-quarter inch in diameter in the repairable area of the tire’s tread.

“We are excited to provide fleets and owner-operators with expanded access to premium Goodyear brand tires,” said Phillip Kane, vice president, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems. “The G399A LHS Fuel Max, G572A LHD Fuel Max and G316 LHT Fuel Max tires – along with our wide-base tires – deliver a wide range of benefits to help fleets and owner-operators lower their total cost of operation.”

“This agreement also strengthens our relationship with TravelCenters, whose extensive network gives trucking operations additional on-highway locations where they can buy premium Goodyear brand tires,” said Frank Payne, general manager, fleet sales, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems. “These are the same high-quality tires that our fleet customers use to support their operations, and we are happy to make them available through TA Truck Service and Petro:Lube truck service facilities.”
