prostar 1Navistar International announced its International ProStar truck is now available for purchase in Russia. Engineered in North America and adapted for use in Russia, the ProStar is on display this week at the Comtrans International Exposition for Commercial Vehicles in Moscow, Russia.

“Customers in Russia require a reliable and durable truck that’s easy to maintain,” said Nurali Bunyatov, managing sales director for Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Navistar. “With more than 70,000 vehicles on the road in North America, the ProStar offers proven performance, fuel efficiency and safety. We also have an office in St. Petersburg and an existing dealer service network across Russia to keep vehicle uptime at a maximum.”

Navistar says the ProStar offers fleets and drivers the efficient power of a big bore engine with lighter weight components to maximize payload. Available in a 6×4 application with 430 horsepower and 1,550 lb,-ft. of torque, the ProStar delivers excellent fuel economy and performance. Its aero nose design further increases fuel efficiency and offers an easy to service tilting hood.

“Customers will see outstanding levels of quality, reliability and uptime with our International ProStar while seeing fuel savings,” said Tom Clevinger, Global senior vice president and general manager, Navistar. “Russia is experiencing economic growth and we are excited to offer our customers a proven vehicle that can support them as their businesses grow.”
