HELP Inc. announced that over a half million trucks from nearly 41,000 trucking fleets are now enrolled in PrePass and qualified to bypass weigh stations and ports of entry in 31 states.
HELP Inc. is a non-profit public/private partnership serving the commercial vehicle safety sector. It has provided PrePass electronic screening and weigh station bypass, along with other truck safety services, since 1993. Under HELP’s strict screening rules, only carriers with good safety records and all necessary credentials can qualify to bypass.
“As of March 1, 504,169 trucks from 49 states, the District of Columbia and eight Canadian provinces were enrolled in PrePass,” said Karen Rasmussen, HELP Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer. “Safe carriers and our public sector partners know HELP uses only the most complete, most accurate data to electronically screen and qualify carriers before they are authorized for bypass at PrePass-equipped sites,” she said. “We expect continued growth both in the number of fleets and enrolled trucks, and in the number of PrePass-equipped weigh stations throughout the country.”
Currently, 310 weigh stations and ports of entry utilize PrePass for bypassing safe trucks. New sites are under development in several states, including California, Delaware, Iowa, Michigan, Oklahoma and Wyoming.
