Trucker Buddy International last week released the latest issue of its digital newsletter, available at this link. The issue includes a semi-annual update on the program’s initiatives from Trucker Buddy President Alan Welborn and recognizes Trucker Buddy’s recent Outstanding Teachers and Outstanding Trucker Buddy award winners.
Trucker Buddy connects elementary school classes with truck drivers via a pen-pal program, facilitated by teachers. Drivers write the students weekly to provide updates on their travels, and teachers use the letters to teach their students about geography, social studies, history and more. The students write a letter to the driver once a month.
