Kenworth and Peterbilt will begin offering a PeopleNet app, which integrates fleet management services and an electronic logging device (ELD) solution, the companies announced Monday.
The app uses Kenworth’s TruckTech+ Remote Diagnostics platform and Peterbilt’s SmartNav system.
The integration of the PeopleNet app decreases installation complexity, improves security with an Ethernet cable connection and reduces truck commissioning time.
Kim Lawton, Peterbilt’s medium duty and technology marketing manager, says removing the need for a secondary device to handle fleet management and logging device functionality improves cab ergonomics.
A PeopleNet pre-wire option is still available from the factory.
