Mack Trucks executives say 2018 year-to-date orders for its 70-inch sleepers are already double that of all 2017.

Several trucking-related recalls have been issued recently, including nearly 4,000 Mack trucks, more than 2,000 Stoughton dry van trailers, nearly 4,000 Carrier auxiliary power units, and nearly 100 Trail King drop deck trailers, according to documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Mack recall affects approximately 3,906 model year 2019-2020 Mack Anthem, Granite and Pinnacle trucks manufactured between Jan. 15, 2018, and Jan. 11, 2019, over an issue with the passenger side door down-view mirror. The company says the mirror could detach from the door.

Mack will notify owners of affected trucks and replace the mirrors for free. Owners can contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177 with recall number SC0416. NHTSA’s recall number is 19V-054.

Carrier’s APU recall affects approximately 3,855 ComfortPro 210STA and PC6112 units. The affected APUs use a second power supply harness that is not protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) connector, the lack of which increases the risk of injury in case of an electrical short.

Carrier will notify affected owners, and dealers will install a GFCI for free. Owners can contact Carrier customer service at 1-800-448-1661 with recall number R-964. NHTSA’s recall number is 19E-006.

Stoughton also announced it is recalling approximately 2,384 model year 2016-2019 dry van trailers in which the forward attachment points for the pintle mounting assembly may crack, leading to the pintle assembly detaching from the trailer, therefore detaching the trailer from the tractor.

Stoughton will notify owners, and dealers will repair the cracks and reinforce the mounting for free. Owners can contact Stoughton customer service at 1-608-873-2580. NHTSA’s recall number is 19V-055.

Trail King has also issued a recall of approximately 80 of its model year 2016-2017 AACS and ACS drop deck trailers equipped with fifth wheel plates that have a 14-inch king pin setting and a ÂĽ-inch plate. The fifth wheel coupler plate on these trailers may crack, potentially allowing the trailer to detach from the tractor. Affected trailers were manufactured between July 1, 2015, and Jan. 31, 2017.
