A small number of Freightliner Cascadia tractors are being recalled over an issue that could damage the brake airlines in the trucks, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents.
The recall affects approximately 183 model year 2019-2020 Freightliner Cascadia trucks equipped with certain 40,000-pound Lightweight Extra Duty AirLiner suspensions and 51-inch axle spacing configuration.
Daimler Trucks North America says the brake airlines may be damaged due to inadequate clearance between the ride height control valve and the airlines, which could reduce brake effectiveness.
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will install a new bracket for the height control valve to add additional clearance for the brake airlines for free. Owners of affected trucks can contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 with recall number FL-820. NHTSA’s recall number is 19V-548.
