American Trucking Associationsâ Technology & Maintenance Council honored four professionals Monday at its annual meeting in Atlanta with the organizationâs top honor â the Silver Spark Plug.
The Silver Spark Plug is given each to individuals demonstrating âprofessional excellence in commercial vehicle maintenance,â said TMC Executive Director Robert Braswell.
âMore than half of the 7.3 million people employed by the trucking industry do something other than drive a truck, and without them, our nationâs goods donât get to our stores, hospitals and factories,â added ATA President and CEO Chris Spear. âThese individuals are examples to all of us in this industry and theyâre to be commended.â
Recognized this year were Stacy Earnhardt, director of asset management and specialized operations at Best Specialized; Fred Kelley, director of engineering at Prestolite, General Cable; Peter Savage, director of quality and implementations at Clarke Power Services; and Paul Wion, northeast market fleet manager at Charter Communications.
