Higgins Transport Service, an agent of Wall Street Intermodal, will integrate into RoadOne’s regional operations, adding 15 drivers along with local leadership to support freight moving through the Port of Charleston.
The deal is part of RoadOne’s broader effort to expand its asset-backed logistics footprint across key trade gateways in the Southeast. "Providing comprehensive, reliable and efficient distribution and logistics services throughout the U.S. is our goal, and we have been particularly focused on expanding our presence in Charleston and throughout the Southeast," JC Carruthers, executive vice president of RoadOne, said in a statement. "The addition of Higgins Transport Service strengthens our commitment to providing unmatched service throughout the Southeast global trade corridor".
Justin Higgins, owner of Higgins Transport Service, said joining RoadOne allows the local carrier to leverage a nationwide logistics platform to better serve existing clients and accelerate business growth.
Privately owned RoadOne operates a fleet of more than 2,500 drivers across over 100 port, rail, and truckload terminals nationwide, alongside nearly 5 million square feet of transload and warehouse space.
