Paper Transport launching mileage-based donation campaign around Green Bay Packers season
De Pere, Wisconsin-based Paper Transport (CCJ Top 250, No. 105) is launching a new campaign based on miles driven transporting Green Bay Packers away game equipment. Paper Transport’s (PTI) new “Miles That Matter” campaign benefits Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) throughout the 2026 Packers season.
For every mile PTI transports Packers' equipment to an away game, the company will donate 50 cents to TAT, up to a total contribution of $5,000.
The campaign will turn the miles PTI already drives in support of the team into an opportunity to fund TAT's work, increase awareness of human trafficking, and highlight the transportation industry's role in recognizing and reporting suspected human trafficking.Paper Transport
PTI has served as a formal sponsorship partner of the Packers for two seasons and has transported the team's equipment to road games for more than 10 seasons. Miles That Matter is the first mileage-based charitable campaign created through the partnership.

Throughout the 2026 Packers season, PTI will track the miles driven to each away game and share campaign updates following every trip. The updates will also provide information to help Packers fans, transportation professionals, and the broader public recognize the signs of human trafficking and understand how to report suspected activity.

West Virginia admits to bilking $500K in fraudulent fuel payments from employer
A West Virginia-based truck driver has entered a guilty plea for wire fraud, admitting to stealing more than half a million dollars from his employer through false charges to company-issued fuel cards.
Jeffrey Jeffers, 35, of Williamstown, West Virginia, pleaded guilty on July 30.
According to court documents and statements made in court, between November 2022 and July 2024, Jeffers delivered products by truck for a large provider of industrial gas from its distribution facility in Wood County. The delivery trucks were fueled at the distribution facility and were also equipped with fuel credit cards.
As part of his guilty plea, Jeffers admitted that he fraudulently charged a total of $510,465.19 in fuel costs to the credit cards throughout his term of employment. Jeffers further admitted that the fraudulent credit card payments went to accounts for fictitious service stations he created on online payment processing platforms.
Jeffers admitted that his delivery routes normally never required any refueling outside of the distribution facility.
Jeffers is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 9 and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Jeffers also owes $510,465.19 in restitution.
“This defendant exploited the trust placed in him by his employer and turned a company resource into a personal revenue stream,” said U.S. Attorney Moore Capito. “Fraud is not a victimless crime. Every dollar stolen through deception is a dollar taken from a business, its employees, and ultimately the community it serves. This case demonstrates that complex fraud schemes carried out behind computer screens and online payment platforms are no less serious than any other form of theft.”
FMCSA’s TechCelerate Now offers new safety tech resources
The TechCelerate Now (TCN) advanced safety technologies program, sponsored by the Federal Motor Carrier safety Administration (FMCSA), has posted new education and outreach tools on its website.
The new resources include updates to the TCN brochures, videos, and an enhanced Return-on Investment (ROI) Calculator, which allows motor carriers and truck drivers to understand what their specific cost and benefit outcomes will be if they are interested in investing in different onboard safety technologies.
The TCN program researches the value proposition of numerous “advanced driver assistance systems” (ADAS), and provides clear, scientific data and information on different advanced safety technologies that can reduce truck-involved crashes and improve the bottom line for motor carriers and truck drivers.
The updated videos, consisting of one comprehensive five-minute video, and three targeted, social media-friendly short videos, are designed to improve industry awareness and to support adoption of proven ADAS technologies.
The two updated TCN brochures focus on both safety outcomes and ROI and efficiency outcomes associated with ADAS technologies. Aside from the online brochures, industry stakeholders can request hard copies of the brochures for meetings and events.
One of the most important updates on the TCN website, the organization said, is the Enhanced ROI Calculator, which is populated with real-world cost and safety data associated with each of the ADAS technologies.
Users can input their specific truck or fleet data, and the calculator will provide customized outputs on technology investment costs and associated safety outcomes for each of the TCN technologies that are being considered.

The TechCelerate Now program is a government-industry partnership that is bringing together government agencies and trucking industry organizations, including FMCSA, the American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council, the American Transportation Research Institute, and the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association Foundation.
