Charger Logistics deploying Aurora autonomous trucks in Texas
Charger Logistics (CCJ Top 250, No. 171) has signed an agreement with Aurora Innovation to begin autonomous hauls between Dallas and Laredo, Texas.
Charger will utilize Aurora’s second-generation driverless truck, which is based on the International LT. Aurora’s second-gen hardware, the company said, is more powerful and built to last a million miles.
“Our new fleet of driverless trucks enables us to meet the substantial demand we’ve seen since we first launched last year,” said Zac Andreoni, Vice President of Business Development at Aurora. "Charger's scale and reach across North America give us a strong foundation to grow from – this is just the first of many routes we expect to bring online together.”
Charger Logistics is an asset-based transportation and logistics company providing truckload, dedicated, temperature-controlled, warehousing, and cross-border logistics services throughout North America.

Former Con-way president, Kenan Advantage CEO join ODW board
Third-party logistics provider ODW Logistics has appointed John Labrie and Charlie DeLacey to its Board of Advisors to help guide company growth and expand its integrated supply chain solutions.
Labrie spent two decades at Con-way, including serving as president of Con-way Freight, and later held CEO roles at Network Global Logistics, MNX Global Logistics, and Quantix (CCJ Top 250, No. 61).
DeLacey is the chief executive officer of Kenan Advantage Group (No. 17), North America’s largest bulk transportation provider.
"John and Charlie bring the strategic perspective, operating discipline, and growth experience that will help ODW achieve its growth objectives," said John Ness, owner and CEO of ODW Logistics. "Their backgrounds leading complex logistics and transportation businesses will be invaluable as we expand our capabilities."
The additions come as ODW Logistics continues scaling its transportation management, technology, and automation strategies under Group President Troy Tibbetts.
Two arrested for stealing trucks in S.C.
Law enforcement in South Carolina last week arrested two individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into commercial vehicle thefts in Florence County.
According to investigators, between Nov. 8, 2022, and Oct. 4, 2025, Andre Horace David Jumpp and Prince Raymond Leon Betts are alleged to have stolen nine commercial motor vehicles in the Florence area, with an estimated total value of $876,500.
Investigators in South Carolina and North Carolina have recovered a total of two motor vehicles, 13 semi-trucks and three trailers with a combined estimated value of over $1 million.
Jumpp and Betts were released from the Florence County Detention Center on surety bonds of $68,436 and $137,596, receptively.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are possible.
Jumpp, age 38, of Home Mills, North Carolina, was arrested on July 22 and charged with nine counts of Grand Larceny, Criminal Conspiracy, Unlawful Entry Into Enclosed Places, and Malicious Injury to Property.
Betts, 37, of Raeford, North Carolina, was arrested on July 24 and faces the same charges as Jumpp.
The thefts are being investigated by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office and other enforcement agencies.
BT Trailers rebrands as BT Built to reflect evolving business
Trailer manufacturer BT Trailers, builder of custom trailers for the oil and gas, over-the-road, and mobile power industries, is moving to a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and, in conjunction, introducing its refreshed brand -- BT Built.
The new identity reflects the company BT has become and the breadth of the company’s capabilities while also reinforcing the principles that have guided the business from the start, the company said.
While custom trailers remain a core part of the business, BT also designs and manufactures custom skid systems, industrial fabrication, and engineered equipment solutions for customers across oil and gas, mobile power, transportation, manufacturing, and other demanding industries.
The company said it remains committed to building quality equipment, standing behind every project, and treating customers the right way.
