Purolator Inc. subsidiary Purolator International, a provider of U.S.-Canada logistics services, announced its partnership with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as a Certified Partner in its Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program.

C-TPAT, a voluntary U.S. government-business initiative and the country’s first worldwide supply chain security program, was implemented to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve the international supply chain and U.S. border security. Through C-TPAT, U.S. Customs and Border Protection is working with logistics and international supply chain businesses to provide the highest level of cargo security for the United States.

As a Certified Partner, Purolator International says it will continue to ensure that appropriate international supply chain security measures are consistent with C-TPAT guidelines. Purolator also will work closely with its own business partners to develop new security processes consistent with C-TPAT guidelines. With the partnership, Purolator International will receive C-TPAT benefits such as reduced cargo exams, professional training and more.

“We are very pleased to have received C-TPAT certification, an important U.S. initiative created to ensure cargo security measures for our country,” says John Costanzo, Purolator International president. “Purolator International works with U.S. businesses to deliver goods to and from Canada and is proud to be working alongside the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to help our customers safely conduct business with its Canadian neighbor to build a more secure and more efficient global trade environment.”
