00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts highlights a new partnership that brings cardless fuel purchasing to more than 100 truckstop locations across the U.S., automated departure reports for freight shipments, a new AI-based invoice auditing solution and more.

00:29 Relay Payments, a fintech company modernizing payments for the trucking and logistics industries, is now offering its cardless purchasing experience to more than 100 Yesway and Allsup’s locations across the U.S.

Relay helps drivers and fleets avoid fuel fraud caused by card skimming by using a unique payment code at the register to purchase their diesel.

Relay co-founder and CEO (Ryan Droege) said, “Card skimming continues to be a major problem for the industry, costing fleets thousands each month. Because Relay’s technology bypasses cards altogether, fleets and drivers can have peace of mind when they pay with our solution. We’re excited to welcome Yesway locations into our digital payment network and give drivers even more options to securely fuel up.”

Fleets and drivers also benefit from diesel fuel discounts, with savings listed in Relay’s mobile app. Additional features include:

• A route-planning tool within the app to maximize time and savings

• The ability to store multiple forms of payment in the app, letting drivers use rewards and loyalty points

• Pricing transparency with no hidden fees

• Customizable spending controls and driver policies

• And access to Relay’s 24/7 U.S.-based customer support team

01:35 Carrier Logistics Inc. (CLI), which provides freight management software for Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) fleets, has released a new functionality that provides shippers and consignees with system-generated notifications about freight status.

Departure Reports are automatically generated and transmitted as soon as the delivery driver leaves a terminal to inform the customer that their freight is on the truck and provide an accurate estimated time of arrival. This opt-in visibility feature helps stakeholders prepare more effectively, simplifies workloads, and frees up time and manpower.

Departure Reports can be delivered by email or text and include a live link for continued real-time tracking. An accompanying Excel file allows users to click on a PRO number to see revised ETAs and a live map showing the driver’s current location.

Key information provided in the notifications includes:

· Departure time leaving the terminal

· Trailer number

· Shipper’s name

· Pallet count and weight

· Bill of Lading and Purchase Order numbers

· And accurate delivery ETA

02:40 FleetDrive 360, which provides a comprehensive, cloud-based solution for managing FMCSA and DOT compliance, has joined the Truckstop Partner Marketplace.

FleetDrive 360 on the Truckstop Partner Marketplace is listed under the Compliance & Safety, Background Screening and Process Automation product categories. The system allows users to access and maintain driver qualification files, drug and alcohol clearinghouse, vehicle maintenance documents, accident reports and more.

The platform also enables API connections for integration with existing transportation management systems and human resource platforms.

03:18 Mexican fintech company Solvento that develops payment and credit infrastructure for Latin America’s trucking sector has launched a new AI software solution to solve for supply chain and freight dynamics propelled by nearshoring.

The invoice auditing solution, called Solvento Audita, automates the end-to-end accounts payable process for the on-the-road freight industry.

Solvento Audita uses APIs to integrate into any existing software, able to read and detect any type of document and validate – a process that is traditionally done manually, even by the largest shippers and brokers. It enables companies that hire truckers to collect digital proof of delivery documents associated with each trip a trucker makes, extract information, and validate that it was concluded and invoiced correctly so it gets paid. It also matches the POD against the invoice and rate to ensure clients only pay what was agreed on and validates the complex and unstandardized accessorial charges.

04:19 Software company Trimble recently made enhancements to two of its solutions with the aim to bring drivers and back-office teams together.

Those upgrades came to its Fleet Manager product, a cloud-based, real-time fleet management system that provides back-office staff with up-to-the-minute visibility of fleet performance, asset locations, driver status and more, and its Instinct product, an Android-based suite of in-cab driver tools, combining fleet management and telematics solutions in a single streamlined experience.

The Fleet Manager update includes a new incident search feature in the fleet map. A specific truck can now be found within an area at a set

timeframe by placing a draggable marker, entering an address, entering

GPS coordinates or drawing an area on the map. Results of the search provide vehicle number, VIN and driver name/ID if available, as well as link to associated vehicle and driver pages.

Fleet Manager is driving the operations team to have better insight and visibility into what's happening on the road with a connected in-cab ecosystem through its Instinct driver experience solution.

Instinct now enables drivers to leave a workflow form to view the stop list or stop detail screen and return to it later for completion. This allows them to get information on the current stop, next stop or even potentially their next trip. This update includes A “Save to Drafts” option added next to the “SEND” option and a Home Screen Reminder that shows drivers they have not completed a form. The user interface also received an update, now providing more of the information drivers consume on a daily basis on the screen.
