00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts focuses on a partnership that aims to advance the safety of autonomous freight, a new TMS AI engine and simplified carrier payments.
00:22 PlusAI, an artificial intelligence company commercializing AI-based virtual driver software for factory-built autonomous trucks, is collaborating with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to advance the safety and efficiency features of autonomous freight.
The companies will explore how tire intelligence from Goodyear's intelligent tire technology suite, SightLine, can enhance PlusAI's fully autonomous virtual driver system, SuperDrive.
Goodyear's SightLine technology delivers real-time, sensor-driven insights into tire health, road surface conditions and friction levels by continuously monitoring the tire-road interface. This advanced tire intelligence technology can further strengthen SuperDrive, supporting enhanced data capture that aims to optimize vehicle performance, reduce operating costs for fleet owners, and improve reliability across a wide range of driving environments.
01:15 PCS Software has embedded an AI engine into its transportation management system to help fleets eliminate manual tasks in freight operations.
The tool, called Cortex AI, applies AI across four key areas of the TMS: optimization, workflow, communication and insights.
Cortex AI optimizes the most data-intensive and decision-laden areas of the TMS, such as dispatch, scheduling, opportunity management and maintenance. It shortens workflows, allowing teams to operate more efficiently and handle more tasks in a shorter time. It manages all communication, from email, text and voice to electronic interfaces like EDI or API. And it gleans over 25 years of insights from its customers to ensure correct and profitable decision making.
The first Cortex-powered capabilities, coming this fall, will focus on intelligent dispatch, routing and scheduling workflow.
02:11 Freight Broker Steam Logistics has partnered with Relay Payments to implement RelayDirect, a digital payment solution that simplifies carrier payments and boosts efficiency, supporting its growing network of carriers and factors.
The RelayDirect platform tackles common challenges like payment delays, manual inefficiencies and limited customization options. By automating carrier payments, it enhances cash flow management and strengthens carrier relationships by providing faster payments and greater transparency.
In collaboration with Navix, Relay and Steam developed an integration to optimize document imaging and auditing processes, further ensuring accuracy and compliance in managing payment records.
