00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts highlights the Drivewyze platform’s new features, a new insurance option for the trucking industry and more.
00:19 Fleetworthy has rolled out two advancements within Drivewyze by Fleetworthy: a new Site Visits Map View within its Safety+ product and a new PreClear Savings Overview Report within its weigh station bypass service.
Drivers receive proactive location-based in-cab safety alerts about potential safety risks ahead through Safety+. Alerts include severe weather, high-citation speeding zones, cargo theft hotspots, high-rollover areas, low bridges, state-sponsored sudden slowdowns, and more. Safety+ also allows fleets to create their own geo-fenced custom zones to highlight safety hotspots, reinforce policies such as terminal reminders, and warn about predatory parking locations, helping reduce costs and improve driver awareness.
Safety+ Site Visits Map View transforms how fleets monitor and respond to risk by plotting safety events on an interactive map in the Drivewyze Hub portal. Fleets can filter safety events by type, severity, date range, and more to focus on specific concerns.
Through Site Visit Map View, safety managers can also quickly identify which drivers require additional coaching and in what areas. What’s more, they can see the precise location.
Additionally, the Drivewyze PreClear Savings Overview Report is a new interactive dashboard in the Drivewyze Hub that helps customers calculate the real and potential return on investment from bypassing weigh stations. The report highlights the financial and operational benefits of bypasses by measuring the ROI from savings on time, fuel, and carbon dioxide emissions. The interactive map and charts provide insights into coverage across North America and how the fleet can improve its bypass savings.
02:02 The mobile app Trucker Path has launched a new division, Trucker Path Insurance, a digitally-enabled retail insurance agency designed to match the trucking industry's most active and engaged owner-operators and fleets, with tailored coverages from top insurance markets, including carriers, managing general agents, and wholesalers.
Trucker Path Insurance, also known as TPI, debuts with a $7 million book of business focused exclusively on the trucking sector, opening new distribution pathways for insurance markets seeking efficient access to small and mid-size fleets and owner-operators. TPI offers a full suite of commercial coverages, including auto liability, motor truck cargo, physical damage, non-trucking liability, and more.
Unlike traditional distribution channels, TPI connects markets with a community of drivers already engaged in safe driving practices – from bridge strike avoidance and inclement weather notifications to construction zones, road closures, and lane restrictions – resulting in better loss performance. Trucker Path app users also regularly utilize features that promote safety, including truck-specific routing with hazard warnings and sharp turn alerts in addition to information on availability and access to secure truck parking.
In collaboration with markets, TPI is also working with the suite of Trucker Path applications to build new in-app safety and claims tools aimed at reducing expenses and improving loss outcomes.
03:37 In additional Trucker Path news, Trucker Path and WEX have partnered to offer the Trucker Path for Fleets navigation app to WEX’s over-the-road EFS customers at a preferred rate.
Powered by input from more than one million users each month, Trucker Path provides navigation for drivers and fleet managers, tailored to truck dimensions and restrictions, helping avoid low overpasses, sharp turns, and weight-restricted roads.
Additional features include trip planning and last-mile navigation to facility entrances, with hazard avoidance and entry and exit guidance; real-time parking availability to reduce search time and improve rest planning; fleet tracking and load ETA updates with continuous GPS integration to TMS platforms; weigh station statuses and wait times for better trip timing; custom map layers to highlight or restrict points of interest and the ability to upload proprietary points of interest; over 500,000 truck-friendly points of interest, including truck stops, rest areas, hotels, and restaurants with peer reviews; and live weather, traffic, and road construction updates to adjust routes proactively.
04:31 AI-native, multi-tenant TMS provider BeyondTrucks has integrated with the Platform Science Virtual Vehicle Marketplace. The collaboration equips fleets with advanced tools to improve productivity and streamline operations within Platform Science’s application platform for transportation.
The BeyondTrucks platform features order intake, invoicing and driver payroll automation, smart load planning, dispatch communication, and configurable driver workflows. The TMS also provides for easily deployable integrations and updates, cost-sharing, a higher level of cybersecurity, increased data speed, and the flexibility to incorporate advancements in AI.
