00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts highlights a digital safety twin that guides autonomous vehicle design, a new way of measuring fleet risk for insurance and a proactive approach to tire management.
00:22 Trucker Path, which provides a mobile app for North American truckers, is launching an insurance program that uses commercial vehicle navigation and route adherence data in the underwriting process.
Trucker Path Insurance, a digitally-enabled retail insurance agency that connects insurance carriers with drivers and fleets, has partnered with full-stack insurance platform Corgi Insurance. The program brings Corgi Insurance’s auto liability, cargo and physical damage coverage to Trucker Path’s community of app users. It gives Corgi a new way to measure each fleet’s risk as part of offering rates that more accurately reflect how they operate.
01:00 Edge Case, a safety intelligence company for autonomous and complex systems, has rolled out a new platform that connects safety analysis, engineering data and operational signals to give teams a continuous understanding of how system risk evolves.
The AI-driven platform called Guardian provides earlier insight into a system's safety profile during design, allowing teams to identify and address hazards as they make design decisions before risks become harder and more expensive to fix.
Safety development programs have a long list of requirements, including system designs, hazard analyses, test artifacts and safety claims. Guardian brings these inputs together in a Digital Safety Twin. This living model of the system helps teams:
- Connect safety analysis, engineering information and system behavior in one system-level view
- Identify how changes in software, hardware or design may affect system risk
- Generate and review safety artifacts with source-linked evidence
- Track hazards, mitigations and supporting evidence across the development lifecycle
- And give safety, engineering and program teams a shared basis for informed decisions
At launch, Guardian will support some of the world's most advanced autonomous platforms, with six customer agreements already signed across both commercial and defense, including Torc Robotics.
02:19 Doran has integrated its commercial tire pressure and temperature monitoring system with Michelin's Smart Predictive Tire solution to support a more proactive approach to tire management.
The integrated solution, now available through the Platform Science Virtual Vehicle Marketplace, is designed to help fleets improve visibility into tire performance and support more informed maintenance and operational decisions by bringing together tire data, connected vehicle technology and predictive insights.
