The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) is accepting entries for its 2017 Faces of Transportation photography and video contest. The deadline is Aug. 25.
“We hope this contest will give people a reason to stop and pay attention to the many ways transportation touches their lives,” says Lloyd Brown, AASHTO director of communications. “We’re asking for a wide range of images – anything from workers designing and constructing projects to people riding bicycles, walking on trails or using public transit, cars, and planes. Every image helps AASHTO tell America’s unique transportation story.”
The last Faces of Transportation contest was held in 2015, and the winners can be viewed here.
For 2017, AASHTO changed up the categories into several transportation themes, including Motor Vehicles, Roads and Bridges, Pedestrians and Bicycles, Ships and Boats, Trains, and Planes.
The Best Overall Photograph and People’s Choice award winners will each receive $500 cash. Two video categories, Amateur/In-house and Professional video production, will each receive $150 cash.
AASHTO will begin online voting Aug. 25 and continue it through Sept. 8. Full details on the competition are available at facesoftransportation.org.
