FleetPride Inc., an independent aftermarket distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, announced that it has acquired the assets of Express Truck Parts Inc. in San Jose, Calif. This acquisition, terms of which were not announced, includes an approximate 10,000-square-foot facility and brings the total number of FleetPride locations in California to 21. Express Truck Parts’ previous owner, Ken Stahl, will stay on in the role of branch manager, and employment offers were extended to all employees.

“The Express Truck Parts acquisition is the most recent step in FleetPride’s strategic initiative to continue to grow our branch locations to better serve our valued customers,” says Woody M. McGee, president and chief executive officer of FleetPride, based in The Woodlands, Texas.

Express Truck Parts is located on Highway 101 near the intersection of Interstate 880, both of which are key thoroughfares from San Francisco, says Steve Turnlund, regional manager, Western region. “San Jose has a strong industrial base, numerous large warehousing and distribution centers, and is the gateway to a thriving agricultural market south of the city,” Turnlund says. “These are all industries that rely on heavy-duty truck and trailer distribution methods, making San Jose a logical expansion choice for FleetPride.” San Jose is a strategic geographic complement to our existing Hayward branch and allows us to extend our reach south of San Jose into markets that weren’t previously accessible from Hayward, he says.

Because Express Truck Parts has been in the same location in San Jose for 33 years, they have a built-in loyal following, says Mike Paxton, vice president of business development and strategic planning. “Leveraging these existing customer relationships will allow us to quickly ramp up and result in significant growth and product line expansion going forward,” Paxton says.
