Averitt Express recently was honored with the 2009 Carrier of the Year award from Elmer’s Products. The presentation took place at Elmer’s Products’ distribution facility in Statesville, N.C., in recognition of Cookeville, Tenn.-based Averitt’s efforts to uphold Elmer’s Products’ high service standards. The award is based on criteria such as service, performance and competitiveness.
According to Tom Campbell, transportation manager for Elmer’s Products, Averitt’s ability to meet stringent requirements when shipping to Wal-Mart, Elmer’s Products’ largest customer, also played a role in determining Averitt as a recipient of the award.
“At a time when superior service, consistent performance and competitiveness are absolutely required to meet the demands of our customers, Averitt has consistently been a valued partner to Elmer’s,” Campbell says. “There were many times throughout the year when Averitt was challenged to meet our requirements, especially regarding shipments to Wal-Mart, and they did every time.”
