J.J. Keller & Associates Inc. presented Midland Packaging & Display of Franksville, Wis., with its Vendor of the Year Award during a recent luncheon held at J.J. Keller headquarters.
“We are truly honored to be recognized by J.J. Keller & Associates as Supplier of the Year,” says Sieg Buck, chief executive officer and president of Midland Packaging & Display. “Midland appreciates J.J. Keller’s culture, one that is committed to providing outstanding customer service.”
As part of its Total Quality Management program, J.J. Keller annually rates its vendors according to their levels of service, quality, value, communication, resourcefulness and professionalism. This year, 57 associates representing those departments with the most vendor contact participated in the rating process. Midland was selected out of 71 reviewed suppliers.
Midland exceeded J.J. Keller’s expectations by capitalizing on opportunities for improvement and proposing practical ways to increase cost savings. “Midland Packaging & Display and J.J. Keller have formed a true partnership in customer-vendor relations,” says Rich Klesmit of Midland Sales. “The willingness on the part of J.J. Keller to try new ideas in packaging has allowed both companies to mutually benefit across the entire supply chain.”
This April, Midland also obtained Forest Stewardship Council and Sustainable Forestry Initiative certifications, accreditations that complement J.J. Keller’s green business practices. “J.J. Keller and Midland share many of the same values,” says James J. Keller, president of J.J. Keller & Associates Inc. “We both value our customers, our business relationships and the environment.”
J.J. Keller’s Vendor of the Year Award sprang from the 1996 creation of a Vendor Rating Program designed to promote positive vendor relationships, bolster supplier performance and reinforce the company’s philosophy that “involvement precedes commitment.”
Along with its Vendor of the Year Award, J.J. Keller issued Supplier Excellence Awards to American Labor Law Co., Ancra International, Accuform Signs, Quad/Graphics and xpedx.
