Hyundai Translead, a manufacturer of dry van trailers, refrigerated trailers, container chassis and converter dollies, announced it will offer Ridge Corp.’s Green Wing aerodynamic side fairing components as its preferred aerodynamic component supplier on all HT trailers. The Green Wing is designed to net up to 5.2 percent in fuel savings per J1321 tract testing for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay requirements, which only requires a 4 percent fuel savings device to be SmartWay-certified.

Hyundai Translead says it chose to partner with Ridge Corp. to offer customers high-performance thermoplastic composite side fairings that are engineered to produce predictable deflection modes that provide stiffness and reduce failure in bending. The Green Wing also is UV-protected, weighs less than 200 pounds, is dent-proof and is warranted against corrosion.

“We believe partnering with a leading aerodynamic component manufacturer like Ridge Corp. allows us to do what we do best, which is build the highest-quality trailers in the industry,” says Glenn Harney, chief sales officer of Hyundai Translead. “By outfitting our trailers with Ridge’s state-of-the-art and proven aerodynamic products, we can provide our customers the best solution for their CARB and EPA SmartWay requirements – a partnership of equals to benefit our customers.”
