LeanLogistics, a provider of SaaS transportation technology and supply chain services, announced that LeanDex, the company’s transportation management index, has been added to the On-Demand TMS and the LeanSource procurement application. LeanDex is designed to allow greater visibility to the user.

“We are able to tap directly into our network of shippers, suppliers and trading partners to provide an accurate real-world window into the North American transportation market,” says Tim Hinson, vice president of operations for LeanLogistics. “With the high demand for procurement services, LeanDex is a timely and valuable tool for our users to help assure competitive spend in all areas of transportation.”

LeanDex is calculated using a proprietary algorithm that factors carrier rate, rate variance, capacity constraints, surplus and deficit market conditions and many other fluctuating influences. The weekly calculation is a moving average that LeanLogistics will release monthly.

Users can leverage the network data both strategically and through daily operations to make more intelligent decisions and to determine collaborative opportunities based on similar region and lane activities, track contract and spot markets, as well as truckload and LTL.
