Cummins Inc. announced the launch of Cummins Care, an enhanced customer assistance program providing 24/7 response. The new program is the latest addition to the operation located at the new Cummins Customer Support Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Cummins employs 110 specialists at the 25,000-square-foot facility who are trained to provide service to all Cummins customers and to be prepared to answer questions and assist customers with finding the nearest authorized service location to meet the customer’s specific service requirements quickly.

The company says Cummins Care complements the relationship between customers and their local Cummins distributors, as well as vehicle and equipment dealers. “Cummins knows that reliability and uptime are critical to our customers’ success, and we strive to provide dependable service support when they need us most,” says Jim Schacht, executive director of Cummins Business Services.

Customers who use Cummins Care can tap into a 3,500-location service network. “We can then help customers find the nearest location that is available to work on the product,” Schacht says. “Understanding and identifying this scheduling availability of the location increases customer uptime and satisfaction.”

Cummins Care also can answer questions regarding the latest on- and off-highway engine and product technology, including U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 2010 and Tier 4 Interim with new ultra-clean aftertreatment systems. The team also is prepared to answer all operational questions on topics such as fuel and oil specifications and maintenance intervals.

Cummins Care uses the same 1-800-DIESELS number, and starting in July, enhanced support hours will be extended to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
