To improve client service and meet increased need for DOT Compliance and Safety services, J.J. Keller & Associates Inc. recently added two industry professionals to its transport consulting team.

Steve Killough joined J.J. Keller as a senior consulting practice manager. Killough brings more than 25 years of experience in the chemical and energy industries as a supply chain and logistics specialist. As an independent adviser, Killough provided strategic and tactical direction for a broad range of clients and has extensive experience with all major modes of transportation including truck, rail and marine. Prior to his tenure as an adviser, Killough spent 18 years at Vulcan Materials Company, first handling their trucking contracts and later as a supply chain manager.

Jimmy Sill will serve as a DOT lead safety consultant. Sill boasts more than 20 years of experience in the transportation industry, including 12 years in regulatory and compliance consulting. Most recently, Sill operated an independent regulatory and safety consulting firm. His background includes loss control and risk management advisement, FMSCR training, policy development, curriculum development, fleet optimization and maintenance, and yard operations. He formerly served as operations and information technologies manager at Lee Transervice, and also has worked in operations and warehousing management at Tyson Foods and ConAgra.
“Steve and Jimmy are great examples of the expert leadership we provide through our DOT Compliance and Safety Program,” says Rich Covyeau, corporate regulatory and safety consulting manager at J.J. Keller. “Our team provides clients with not only an initial training and compliance needs assessment, but an ongoing support system that includes regular site visits and access to a variety of in-person and Web-based compliance services. This gives fleet management the benefits of having a DOT compliance expert on staff, to supplement existing staff and provide expert guidance on complex regulations. Our services are also cost-effective for fleets compared to the challenge and expense of staffing these positions on their own.”
