Kenworth Truck Co. will showcase four alternative fuel trucks in its booth (No. 144) during the Alternative Clean Transportation Expo Tuesday-Thursday, May 15-17, at the Long Beach Convention Center in California. Roush CleanTech is speaking, exhibiting and sponsoring at the 2012 ACT Expo to show how domestically produced, clean and cost-efficient propane autogas is a proven alternative fuel solution. ACT Expo is a North American alternative fuel and clean vehicle technologies show.

“The 2012 ACT Expo provides the perfect opportunity to showcase how Roush CleanTech customers are gaining tremendous savings on maintenance and fuel costs, while not compromising range and performance by operating propane autogas vehicles in their fleet,” says Todd Mouw, vice president of sales and marketing for Roush CleanTech and a featured presenter on the “Gaseous Fuel Upfitters” panel Wednesday, May 16. “Fleet managers can talk to our customers who have not only realized the benefits of propane autogas, but after experiencing this zero compromise alternative fuel, are coming back for more.”

The exhibition brings together vehicle and engine manufacturers, fleet operators, infrastructure and fuel providers, Clean Cities coordinators, technology developers, and policymakers.

“The ACT Expo is an important opportunity to demonstrate Kenworth’s continuing leadership and commitment to alternative fuel trucks, which are gaining increasing attention among on-highway, vocational and medium-duty fleets and truck operators,” says Michelle Harry, Kenworth powertrain marketing manager. “Kenworth’s strong alternative fuel product line features compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas, and diesel-electric hybrids.”

The ACT Expo’s Technology Showcase session will spotlight efficiencies in new product offerings. Andy Douglas, Kenworth national sales manager for specialty markets, will discuss “Converging Forces: Low Fuel Prices, New Engine Technology and Expanding Infrastructure” as part of a panel focused on heavy duty trucking starting at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 15.

Leading Kenworth’s four-truck lineup at the ACT Expo is the new Kenworth T660 CNG truck equipped with the new Cummins Westport ISX12 G heavy-duty natural gas engine. Kenworth’s booth also will feature a T440 CNG mixer equipped with the 8.9-liter Cummins Westport ISL G engine; a T800 LNG tractor with a 15-liter Westport HD engine; and a T370 diesel-electric hybrid.

Roush CleanTech will display a Ford E-450 cutaway fueled by propane autogas and owned by National Bus Sales in booth No. 439. During the ride-and-drive portion of the event, fleet managers can test the performance capabilities of a Roush CleanTech Ford E-450 shuttle bus, an F-250 pickup truck or an E-250 cargo van.
