Ryder System announced it has been selected by Multi Group Logistics – a provider of expedited asset-based truckload service of general dry commodities based in Franklin Park, Ill. – to provide onsite maintenance for its entire fleet of trucks and trailers and a full-service lease for 205 heavy-duty tractors from Ryder.

The Ryder On-Site Fleet Maintenance solution brings Ryder’s maintenance technology and expertise right to the customer’s location. Ryder says its On-Site Fleet Maintenance gives customers all of the advantages of Ryder’s professionally managed vehicle maintenance with the ease, convenience and reliability of on-site service. Ryder’s Full Service Lease is a turnkey lease program that includes vehicle configuration, financing, acquisition, maintenance and disposal.

“Maintenance is a key element of our ‘on time, every time’ commitment to our customers,” said Vassil Bayraktarov, president of Multi Group Logistics. “We rely on our maintenance provider to maximize the uptime and safety of our fleet. We looked at Ryder’s history and experience providing vehicle maintenance and decided that having that expertise onsite would provide the reliability, convenience and speed we needed to keep that promise.”

Ryder’s On-Site Maintenance facility, which will be located at Multi Group Logistics’ Franklin Park headquarters, will service the trucking company’s full fleet of 500 vehicles, which include the 205 heavy-duty tractors leased from Ryder, and 675 trailers. In addition, Multi Group Logistics will be able to receive service for its entire fleet at any of Ryder’s maintenance facilities throughout Ryder’s U.S. network of facilities. The shop will be able to accommodate the maintenance of all of Multi Group’s 1,175 pieces of equipment.

Ryder currently operates more than 225 On-Site Fleet Maintenance facilities in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada as part of its total service network of 800 facilities. “Running an efficient maintenance operation for commercial vehicles can be a challenging task, with constantly changing vehicle technologies, regulatory requirements, training, tooling and staffing needs,” said Dennis Cooke, president of Global Fleet Management Solutions for Ryder. “Our customers turn to Ryder for our expertise and 80 years of experience in the industry. We make it our business to give them the service levels they need so they can focus on what they do best.”
