Can or do carriers use electronic onboard recorders to harass drivers?
That’s what the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has set out to find, and it’s seeking feedback on a survey that examines harassment and coercion of drivers relative to EOBRs, due in large part to the mandate that was passed in July as part of the MAP-21 highway funding bill.
The survey itself seeks to understand the ways and the extent to which carriers or even those working in enforcement could use EOBRs to harass or coerce drivers.
