Packard Logistics of Channahon, Ill., announced it has implemented Transflo Velocity from Pegasus TransTech to strengthen its carrier relationships and improve customer service. Transflo Velocity provides an electronic way for carriers to submit invoices and load documents to participating third party logistics (3PL) providers and freight brokers to speed processing and payment.

Packard Logistics, founded in 1994, is a broker that specializes in flatbed and specialty haul for Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. Department of Defense. The company also handles some dry van freight.

According to Vice President April Koltes, Packard Logistics moves approximately 1,500 loads a month from its headquarters in Channahon.

The company’s business operations are certified by ISO, the International Organization for Standards. Owned by transportation veteran Melodee Easton, Packard Logistics is also a certified woman-owned business and active with the Women in Trucking organization.

Packard is always looking for ways to improve customer service and efficiency, Koltes said. “We brought in Velocity so we could receive the carriers’ paperwork faster and we can pay them faster,” she noted.

Transflo Velocity makes it easy for carriers to group the documents and load information a broker requires and electronically transmit them together with an invoice. Transflo Velocity reduces processing time, allowing 3PLs and brokers to bill their shippers faster and pay carriers more quickly. Transflo Mobile is another convenient option offered to Packard Logistics carriers. Transflo Mobile requires a smartphone, either an Android or iPhone, to send the documents and invoice.

The Transflo Velocity software is free for carriers and can be downloaded at www.transflovelocity.com.
