PeopleNet announced support for Motorola’s MC75A Mobile Computer to be compatible with PeopleNet’s fleet mobility applications.
“This announcement kicks off our partnership with Motorola and a suite of commercial-grade handhelds that offers our customers highly durable options for reliable, convenient end-to-end management throughout the supply chain with PeopleNet in-cab technologies,” said Rick Ochsendorf, executive vice president. “This ruggedized device offers drivers the durability they need inside and outside of the cab, with resilience to the elements, being dropped, and tossed around the cab to curb, if not eliminate, replacement costs.”
PeopleNet’s testing found that the MC75A 3.5G Worldwide Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA) meets user application-specific needs, and reduces the risk of damage and shortens deployment time for PeopleNet customers. In addition, this point-of-work management platform provides drivers reliable, convenient access to more display options that are fully supported by PeopleNet applications.
Beyond portability and durability, PeopleNet certifies each handheld device offering to ensure that they support safety and compliance management, driver and vehicle monitoring, and the company’s other applications. In doing so, the company says that commercial-grade devices like the MC75A protect critical, proprietary data against loss and security breaches. These attributes enable a company-owned, personally enabled (COPE) strategy for fleet mobility solutions, it says.
