Transplace, a provider of transportation management system (TMS) and logistics technology, announced that Brenntag, a chemical distributor, has selected the technology company’s proprietary TMS to improve supply chain visibility and operational efficiencies.

Linking chemical manufacturers and chemical users, Brenntag provides business-to-business distribution solutions for industrial and specialty chemicals globally. With over 10,000 products and a world-class supplier base, Brenntag offers one-stop-shop solutions to more than 170,000 customers.

“We wanted a solution that would automate Brenntag’s transportation management activities and drive continuous improvement and savings throughout our organization,” said Dan Letscher, supply chain manager, Brenntag. “Transplace’s SaaS solution gives Brenntag the optimal technology to optimize our supply chain operations, increase visibility and better serve our customers.”

Using Transplace’s TMS, Brenntag will be able to more effectively manage inbound transportation from domestic vendors to its regional operating facilities and outbound shipments to all customer locations. Transplace web-based technology will help the company optimize its transportation network, view shipments in real-time, better manage the freight audit and payment process and reduce transportation costs.

“Transplace brings a strong presence in the chemical space and an experienced team that understands our business and the unique requirements of the chemical supply chain,” said David Garner, senior vice president, operations, Brenntag. “It was also important that Transplace owns and develops its own technology, which allows them to tailor the solution to our unique requirements, and can add additional services and solutions as our needs change.”
