Firestone Drives America Tour donates more than $15,000 to Food Banks

Bridgestone Commercial Solutions launches the second leg of its Firestone Drives America Tour at the NCAA College Football game between Stanford and San Jose State Saturday, Sept. 7. The celebration of the iconic American brand, Firestone, and introduction of new Firestone commercial truck tires to fleets and drivers continues this fall as the road show stops at eight select college football games.

The traveling road show crossed the country this summer stopping at 12 Minor League BaseballTM games. Tour attendees learned about the innovation behind and performance benefits of the company’s new line of Firestone eco-Products. Additionally, at each stop, a local food bank was given a donation. A total of $15,000 was donated to help feed the hungry in these local communities.

“The Firestone Drives America Tour summer stops were a great success, providing fun experiences for thousands of attendees, including a chance to learn about our latest Firestone commercial truck tires – the FS591 steer, FD691 drive, and FT491 all-position radials,” said Matthew Stevenson, Vice President of Marketing, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions. “The Tour also provided us with a wonderful opportunity to help those in need. The $15,000 we contributed perfectly aligns to our company’s ongoing commitment to serving our communities.”

The Firestone Drives America Tour is part of the “Those With Drive, Drive a Firestone” campaign, which first kicked off in March and includes a series of activities across the United States celebrating the timeless “F-shield” and the state-of-the-art, trusted technology that continues to lead Firestone innovation. The campaign includes the Drive a Firestone Sweepstakes, where one lucky Class 8-CDL holder will win the sweepstakes grand prize – a special Firestone Edition Class 8 tractor. The tractor is on display during the tour.

Tour attendees can talk to Firestone experts about how to achieve a lower cost per mile and any other questions they may have about Firestone tires. To check out the road show tour schedule, visit www.firestonetrucktires.com.

The Firestone Drives America Tour concludes at the 2014 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.
