XRS Corporation, a provider of mobile trucking intelligence, has been named a finalist in the Mobile Technologies category for the 2013 Tekne Awards by the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA). The Tekne Awards honor Minnesota companies and individuals that have shown superior technology innovation and leadership.

Launched in March 2013, XRS is a mobile platform for compliance and fleet optimization. The XRS mobile platform runs on many different certified mobile devices and automatically transmits vehicle and operator data through the cloud to a fleet management dashboard, providing compliance with current regulatory standards for electronic recording of a driver’s hours of service.

“We are thrilled to be honored as one of the state’s top technology innovators by the Minnesota High Tech Association,” said Jay Coughlan, chairman and CEO, XRS Corporation. “When we debuted the XRS mobile platform earlier this year, we knew we were pioneering an entirely new approach to trucking intelligence. Recognition as a finalist for the prestigious Tekne Awards confirms that we are leading our industry toward more widespread adoption of mobile technology.”

Presented by the MHTA, the Tekne Awards recognize Minnesota’s best and brightest technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management. A full list of finalists is available at www.tekneawards.org.

“The Tekne Awards recognize those whose leadership and dedication to technological development helps demonstrate Minnesota as a global leader in technology,” said Coughlan. “This year’s finalists should be extremely proud of their role in helping Minnesota maintain its prominence as a place where high-tech businesses can grow and thrive.”

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The event will begin with a VIP reception at 4:30 p.m., followed by a general registration and reception at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. Paul Douglas, author, entrepreneur and meteorologist, will emcee the event.
