Zonar promotes two executives

Zonar, a provider of fleet management technology, announced the promotions of Fred Fakkema to vice president of compliance and Tony Bezilla to vice president of product management. The promotions, it said, are reflective of the company’s rapid growth and anticipation of future expansion.

With over 25 years of transportation compliance experience, Fred Fakkema will be leading the compliance division at Zonar to ensure that its applications meet the ever-changing regulatory requirements in the marketplace. He will also facilitate relations with the enforcement community and act as a liaison to governmental entities for Zonar.

Fakkema joined Zonar in 2010 after a 25 year career with the Washington State Patrol (WSP). During his career, he commanded the WSP Academy, Government and Relations Division and the Commercial Vehicle Division. He is the past president for the Washington Chapter, FBI National Academy Associates. Fakkema earned his Master’s degree in public administration from the University of Washington.

As the vice president of product management, Tony Bezilla will lead Zonar’s innovation and product development efforts. He is responsible for Zonar’s product enhancements, new product development and defining Zonar’s product strategy.

Bezilla has a 20-year career in information technology with a background in a spectrum of industries ranging from higher education to transportation and technology services. Prior to joining Zonar, Bezilla served as vice president of Global IT Delivery for school bus contractor FirstGroup. Bezilla received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in the fields of computer science and telecommunications from the University of Maryland.
