Trucking equipment and technology is ever changing. That has been especially evident of late, as major truck manufacturers have unveiled technology that could revolutionize the industry.

Next month, a panel of representatives from top equipment and technology manufacturers will discuss those advancements, other potential looming revolutionary trucking technology and what it means for carriers and the industry as a whole at the annual Commercial Vehicle Outlook seminar.

CV-Outlook will be held at the Dallas Convention Center Aug. 26-27, and the theme of this year’s event is Trucking’s Future Now, and all sessions and speakers will center on offering a look at what the trucking industry will look like in the years to come.

The equipment and technology panel will discuss how trucking equipment and tech will evolve over the next decade to meet changing environmental, safety and infrastructure concerns, including the advent of autonomous trucks, platooning and self-repairing machines.

Panelists include Derek Rotz, the chief engineer of Freightliner’s SuperTruck project; Bill Kahn, principal engineer for Peterbilt Motors; and Josh Switkes, CEO of Peloton Technology. The panel will be moderated by Paul Menig, CEO of Tech-I-M.

The conference will also feature speeches and panel discussions on changing infrastructure, freight patterns and the driver and technician labor market.
