The American Trucking Associations’ Technology and Maintenance Council 2016 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition will celebrate the 60th anniversary of TMC, along with highlighting trends in trucking maintenance and productivity. The conference will take place Feb. 29-March 3 at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tenn.
The annual TMC conference will feature more than 400 exhibitors showcasing the latest in medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, alternative fuel vehicles, safety and information technology and more, ATA says.
“It’s important for us to mark this milestone in the Council’s history,” said Carl Kirk, ATA vice president of maintenance, information technology and logistics and TMC executive director. “Much of what the industry knows in the way of best practices, and reliable and safe equipment can be traced to the efforts of specialists on the original equipment and aftermarket side and equipment maintenance professionals working together in partnership at TMC.”
The conference will offer a number of study group technical sessions on topics ranging from LEAN problem solving and the zero-waste maintenance shop to achieving 360-degree driver awareness and what the Food Safety and Modernization Act final rules mean for maintenance.
There will also be full technical sessions dealing with the growing shortage of diesel technicians and what cutting-edge operations are doing to recruit, hire, develop and retain technicians.
