More than 33 states in the U.S. have legalized marijuana use in some form, mostly for medicinal use. Despite this changing landscape regarding marijuana laws, the federal government maintains a prohibition on possession and use of marijuana, and the U.S. DOT requires drivers to test negative for cannabis use to hold a CDL and to obtain a driving job.

However, if federal laws changed and the U.S. DOT changed these rules, would you hire a driver who tested positive for marijuana use, so long as they didn’t use it while driving? Take our poll below, or sound off in the comments section or email CCJ Senior Editor James Jaillet at [email protected]
