U.S. Xpress opts for Webb Vortex brake drums

U.S. Xpress Enterprises (No. 12 in the CCJ Top 250) has chosen Webb Vortex Unlimited brake drums for its fleet of 8,000 over-the-road tractors and 22,000 trailers when replacement drums are required. U.S. Xpress will spec the Webb Vortex Unlimited drum for new equipment purchases as well.

The patented Webb Vortex Unlimited brake drum has external cooling ribs that conduct heat away from the brake surface to aid heat dissipation and help lower operating temperatures. Running at lower temperatures means improves performance and brake life, Webb says.

The Webb Vortex Unlimited brake drum also includes a patent-pending wear indicator.
