Trucking adds 10,200 jobs in February
Payroll employment in trucking surged in February as the trucking companies added 10,200 jobs on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the latest numbers released March 9 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. February represents the largest one-month gain in trucking employment since February 2011, when the industry added 12,400 jobs. Hiring was brisk in the overall economy, which added 227,000 nonfarm jobs in February, according to the BLS figures.
