Michelin announced this week it will be increasing its commercial tire prices beginning Dec. 1.

The 8 percent increase will apply to all commercial brands, products and services offered by Michelin. The company says the increase, which will be paired with a 5 percent increase in passenger tire prices on Jan. 1, will address increased operating costs and other factors.

Bridgestone last month announced a 10 percent price increase for its commercial tire brands. The company says increased business costs prompted it to increase National Account, National Fleet and National Fleet Preferred account prices on all Bridgestone and Firestone truck and bus radial tires, Bandag retreads and tire-related services in the U.S. and Canada. All tires shipped after Nov. 9 will reflect the price increase.
