Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) endorsed the mandate, which calls for a phased-in reduction of up to 25 percent in greenhouse gas emissions from tractors and vocational vehicles – of which up to a five percent improvement must come from the engine.

By model year (MY) 2027 – when the Phase 2 standards are fully phased in – tractors in a tractor-trailer combination must achieve up to 25 percent lower CO2 emissions and fuel consumption than an equivalent tractor in 2018.

Court rules against owner-operator emissions flexibility options for California emissions regs
The Superior Court of Fresno directed the California Air Resources Board on June 9 to void the amendments to its Truck & Bus Rule. CARB says the amendments will remain in effect, however, while it appeals the court ruling. The court decision did not affect the Truck & Bus Rule itself.
