New API compliant RUBIA OPTIMA diesel engine oil now available

TOTAL Specialties USA Inc., has launched its new RUBIA OPTIMA diesel engine oil. Designed for heavy-duty engines, this new range of oil complies with the new CK-4 and FA-4 categories defined by the American Petroleum Institute (API) which will take effect Dec. 1.

Christophe Doussoux, senior vice president of lubricants at TOTAL Specialties USA, Inc., says the two new categories were developed to help meet the new greenhouse gas emission limits and will replace the current API CJ-4 service category that was developed nearly a decade ago.

Launched Thursday were CK-4 oils RUBIA OPTIMA 1100 15W-40 and RUBIA OPTIMA 1100 FE 10W-30 and FA-4 oil RUBIA OPTIMA 2100 XFE 10W-30.
