Heil announces 5 percent price increase

Updated Jan 9, 2013

Heil Environmental has announced an average five
percent price increase on all refuse collection bodies and roll-off hoists, effective January 1, 2013.

Heil has cited two key drivers for the increase. First, the company has noted the incorporation of
significant innovations into their entire line of refuse collection products over the past 18-24 months, with
the goal of providing customers with the best overall value in the industry. More features on their refuse
bodies are now part of the standard models versus separately priced options. These features are designed
to enhance customer productivity while reducing operation and maintenance costs. In addition, Heil’s
refuse bodies have a proven reputation for providing customers with unmatched durability over the life of
the vehicle, enabling them to make the most of their equipment investment and lowering the Total Cost of
Ownership (TCO).

“No manufacturer likes to raise prices,” says Nate Davis, Heil Product Manager. “However, there
are times when it is necessary. We want to continue to offer customers the most innovative refuse
collection equipment in the solid waste industry and at the same time deliver the highest efficiency with the
lowest TCO. That innovation requires us to continually explore new technologies which, in turn,
necessitates both resource and capital investments.”

Secondly, Heil cites the impacts of escalating employee healthcare costs and the overall economic
inflation that has affected most industrial manufacturers over the same 18-24 month time period.

“Unfortunately, such significant cost increases cannot be offset by internal Lean initiatives alone,” says
Tom Vatter, Vice President of Sales for Environmental Solutions Group, of which Heil is a part. “We are
proud of our commitment to product innovation and superior service, and we will continue to invest in Line. These investments will continue to measurably benefit our customers, despite the economic
challenges we all face.”

Heil has indicated that the 2013 price increase varies by product and selected options. Current
customers and those interested in purchasing Heil products are encouraged to contact their local Heil
Dealer for additional information.
