Kenworth of Lincoln has opened a full-service dealership at a remodeled facility on property west of Lincoln near the U.S. Interstate 80 and Highway 77 interchange.
A member of the Kenworth dealer network of nearly 340 locations in the United States and Canada, Kenworth of Lincoln is located on 24 acres off Exit 396 on eastbound U.S. Interstate 80 and Exit 397 off westbound I-80 at 201 S.W. 27th St. in Lincoln. The 19,400 square-foot facility features six service bays, well-stocked 7,500 square-foot parts department, separate full showers for men and women drivers, three washers and three dryers, and a comfortable driver’s lounge with Internet access.
“We’ve made a significant investment of time and money to get our newest location in top shape for our customers,” said Tom Berg, general manager of the Kenworth of Lincoln and Kenworth of Omaha locations. “The facility is conveniently located near Interstate 80, offering drivers and owner-operators 10 acres of paved and flat ground to maneuver and park.”
Interstate 80 is a major east-west route that traverses the length of Nebraska from Omaha in the east to the state’s border with Wyoming in the west. Before the Lincoln location opened, customers had to drive more than 50 miles northeast to the nearest Kenworth location in Omaha to get service.
“Because of the work of business and community leaders, Lincoln has a vibrant and growing economy,” Berg said. Previously ranked by Forbes Magazine as No. 1 on its list of ‘America’s Best Cities for New Jobs,’ and No. 1 on the Tax Foundation’s list of ‘Best Overall Business Tax Climate,’ Lincoln has become a magnet for new economic growth and development during the past several years.
“The agricultural industry continues to be a strong economic base for the community and companies in this industry need Kenworth trucks as well as parts and service support,” Berg added. “Construction and aggregate haulers also need trucks, parts and service support as new home construction, business relocations and road construction activity picks up.”
Kenworth of Lincoln joins four other dealership locations operated by R.L. French Group – Rock Island, Ill.; Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, Iowa; and Omaha, Neb. R.L. French Group has been a Kenworth dealer since buying the Kenworth of Omaha dealership in 1983.
The Lincoln location, which is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, offers parts delivery and full warranty service support for the PACCAR MX-13 engine. Kenworth of Lincoln also offers PACCAR Financial support through flexible retail loans, and leases for the transportation industry.
