Western Star details ICUEE exhibit

Western Star to Exhibit at ICUEE (2013 International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition)
Showcasing Rugged Utility Trucks at Booth #N2015

Western Star Truck has announced its product lineup at the 2013 International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE). The Western Star 4700SB digger derrick and 4700SF crane, on display in Booth #N2015, showcase the brand’s rugged, lightweight truck solutions for budget-minded contractors and municipalities.

Equipped with a hydraulic Terex Utilities Digger Derrick, the Western Star 4700SB all-wheel drive (AWD) truck is designed for rugged, off-road vocational terrain. Featuring a Cummins ISL engine (up to 370 hp and 1250 lb-ft of torque) and an Allison 3000-series transmission with mounted power take-off, the truck is equipped to dig, set and hoist utility poles in the most challenging conditions.

The Western Star 4700SF Manitex crane will also be on display. Featuring a Cummins ISL engine (350 hp, 1000 lb-ft torque), Detroit 20,000-pound front axle, driver-controlled traction differential and Eaton-Fuller transmission, the 4700SF blends ruggedness and stability for optimal operation of the truck’s 28-ton boom.

Both Western Star 4700 models feature a 110-inch BBC — the shortest BBC in its class — and a wheel cut up to 50 degrees to provide excellent maneuverability on tight job sites.

“The Western Star 4700 combines the best in performance, customization and durability in an affordable package for contractors and municipalities,” said Peter Schimunek, marketing segment manager, Western Star. “Our crane and digger derrick trucks are just a sampling of the full suite of solutions we offer to meet a wide range of applications.”
