Priority Courier Experts acquires Atlanta-based INPAX Shipping Solutions
Same-day logistics provider Priority Courier Experts (PCE) has acquired Atlanta-based INPAX Shipping Solutions, expanding its delivery footprint across the Southeast. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition provides Minneapolis-based PCE with immediate scale in seven Southern markets, including Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh. PCE operates across time-sensitive sectors like health care, retail and industrial manufacturing.
"INPAX brings more than two decades of Southeast expertise and immediate scale in strategic markets," said Mark Cossack, chief executive officer of PCE. "This is exactly the kind of partner that will help us broaden our service offering and grow faster together."
Founded more than 20 years ago, INPAX completes more than 400,000 orders annually across Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and the Carolinas. The company employs 75 workers and contracts with more than 335 drivers, offering services ranging from final-mile parcel delivery to LTL and full truckload shipping.

Teamsters mount another final mile contractor push in Chicago
The Teamsters union is pressing Chicago City Council members to pass new delivery regulations ahead of a scheduled Sept. 15 subject matter hearing on the Chicago Delivery Protection Act.
Introduced by Ald. Julia Ramirez, the measure would require delivery companies operating within city limits to obtain licenses for last-mile delivery facilities and prohibit subcontracted delivery networks, such as Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner (DSP) system.
Union leaders and drivers argue that current subcontracting arrangements shield major retailers from liability while degrading working conditions and community safety. The push in Chicago mirrors legislative efforts in New York City, where a similar delivery protection measure gained supermajority support in the City Council alongside backing from municipal leaders.
"The movement to end Amazon's dangerous DSP model is growing because workers are fed up with this company's lies and mistreatment," said Randy Korgan, director of the Teamsters Amazon Division. "Amazon Teamsters are leading the fight to hold Amazon accountable. We are calling on Chicago Alderwomen and Aldermen to defend everyday Chicagoans by passing the Delivery Protection Act."
Labor representatives contend the legislation would establish direct accountability for workplace injuries and vehicle collisions.
"The Delivery Protection Act will preserve jobs while finally making Amazon liable for injuries and accidents that occur," said Thomas W. Stiede, president of Teamsters Joint Council 25.
The City Council is expected to take up the matter during committee hearings next month.
Averitt expands in Mississippi
Averitt’s (CCJ Top 250, No. 25) new 100,000-square-foot Jackson Distribution & Fulfillment facility opened on Aug. 24 and is located at the crossroads of I-20 and I-55, next door to Averitt's existing 57-door LTL service center, the company announced Thursday.
The location provides access to key markets, rail connections, and port services through New Orleans and Mobile, while allowing customers to connect warehousing and transportation services in one location.
The new facility also offers contract-free warehousing, giving businesses the ability to add space when they need it without committing to a long-term contract. Averitt customers can use the space for overflow inventory, seasonal needs, emergency staging, or a broader distribution and fulfillment solution.
“Jackson is an important market for Averitt, and this facility expands the ways we can support businesses in the area,” said Barry Blakely, president and chief operating officer at Averitt. “We are pleased to bring flexible warehousing and fulfillment options to the market and give businesses more choices as their distribution needs change.”
The new Jackson warehousing location is located at 109 Diane Dr., Richland, Mississippi.
