Brake inspection spree out-of-service rate jumped in 2014, CVSA reports
Enforcers in the annual week-long inspection spree held in September placed 2,162 trucks — 16.2 percent of the vehicles inspected — out of service, according to CVSA. The percentage of vehicles placed out of service jumped a few points from 2013’s record-low of 13.5 percent.

On this New Year’s edition of Money Monday (and the last of 2014), Class 8 truck orders continued their recent boom, while trailer orders also saw a big spike.
